Description
Yucca rostrata (Sapphire Skies) is a specially selected seedling that features a more vibrant, intense blue color compared to the standard species. This yucca thrives in full sun and dry conditions, making it perfect for low-water landscapes. In ideal conditions, it can eventually grow to over 12 feet tall, though in regions like Kentucky, it typically adds about 4 inches of height each season. Over time, as it begins to produce trunks, it takes on a striking, palm-like appearance. This unique look is rare in Kentucky, and Yucca rostrata (Sapphire Skies) is often mistaken for a palm tree at our nursery. We’ve even had one survive in Louisville, KY for over 22 years, enduring temperatures as low as -15°F.
