Xanthosoma lindenii, sometimes historically placed within Caladium, is a striking tropical aroid whose classification has shifted over time. Originally described as a Xanthosoma, it was later moved into the Caladium group, and continues to be discussed botanically due to its unique characteristics. Regardless of taxonomic placement, this species stands out as one of the most elegant foliage plants in cultivation.
The leaves are long and hastate (arrow-shaped), with deep green surfaces highlighted by bold white to silvery veins that create a dramatic contrast. The foliage has a refined, almost hand-painted appearance. Petioles are dark brown and display a subtle textured surface with fine hairs, adding additional interest and structure to the plant.
