Description
Hippeastrum reticulata is a bulb plant often referred to as an Amaryllis. The plant is from Brazil and will grow a large bulb, softball size, once mature or more. One of the main distinctive features of this plant is the white line that runs down every leaf in the center. Most Amaryllis are considered ornamental flowering plants but this plant has great foliage that is just as interesting to grow as the flower. The plant produces large pink flowers that are 6 inches across. Plants grow to 1 to 2 feet tall and have been observed hardy in zone 8 or higher. This plant makes for a great plant in warm climates or container plant in cooler northern states.
