Description
Colocasia ‘White Pharaoh’s Mask’
Colocasia ‘White Pharaoh’s Mask’ is a striking elephant ear selection grown for its dramatic venation and richly textured foliage. The deep green leaves have a subtle sheen that catches the light, giving the plant a polished, almost lacquered appearance in the garden. Rising prominently above the leaf surface are bold off-white veins, creating a sculptural pattern that stands out sharply against the dark foliage.
The contrast between the glossy dark green leaf surface and the raised pale veins gives the plant a dimensional, embossed look that is especially noticeable as the leaves mature. This distinctive venation is characteristic of the Pharaoh’s Mask line, where the veins appear lifted from the leaf blade rather than flat within it.
Plants form a strong upright clump, typically reaching 4 to 5 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, making them large enough to serve as focal points while still fitting comfortably into mixed tropical plantings. The combination of bold structure, contrasting color, and reflective foliage makes Colocasia ‘White Pharaoh’s Mask’ particularly effective in landscapes, large containers, or mass plantings where the dramatic foliage can be fully appreciated.
