Description
Colocasia ‘Coal Miner’ is a hardy elephant ear collected from the Himalayan mountains. It produces striking, nearly black leaves highlighted by contrasting green veins. This bold foliage plant grows 3–4 feet tall and adds dramatic texture and color to garden beds and containers.
In trials, ‘Coal Miner’ has proven to be one of the top five hardiest colocasias. With fall mulch protection, it reliably returns in spring and has demonstrated greater cold tolerance than ‘Illustris’.
A strong and dependable tropical perennial for gardeners seeking bold foliage with improved hardiness.
