Ananas comosus ‘Cathy’ — Mini Pineapple
Ananas comosus ‘Cathy’ is a compact ornamental pineapple valued for its attractive tropical foliage and small decorative fruit. This dwarf selection forms a tidy rosette of narrow, arching green leaves that create a neat, symmetrical plant ideal for containers and indoor culture.
As the plant matures, it produces a short central flower spike that develops into a miniature pineapple fruit topped with a tufted crown of leaves. The small fruit adds an interesting ornamental feature and gives the plant its classic pineapple appearance on a much smaller scale.
Because of its compact growth habit, ‘Cathy’ is especially well suited for houseplants, patio containers, and tropical-themed displays. It thrives in warm temperatures, bright light, and well-draining soil. With proper care, this miniature pineapple becomes a fun and unusual addition to any plant collection.
