Description
This cultivar demonstrates vigorous growth under optimal tropical or subtropical conditions, reaching mature heights of 4 to 6 feet with proportionally broad leaves that enhance its sculptural presence. Alocasia ‘Platinum’ is adaptable to container cultivation as well as well-drained landscape situations and responds favorably to consistent moisture and high humidity. The metallic sheen of the foliage, combined with the contrasting petiole coloration, makes this cultivar highly ornamental and a notable specimen in aroid collections.
Flowers are rare in cultivation but follow the typical Alocasia inflorescence pattern, consisting of a spadix enclosed by a hooded spathe.
