Cannas are just amazing. As quoted in Ian Cooke book The Gardeners Guide to Growing Cannas. (Big, brash, bright and gaudy Cannas could be described as the clowns of the plant world.) For me not many plants can compete with a good Canna. The foliage is spear shaped usually and can come in a variety of colors not to mention the variegated forms. Which alone make most varieties worthy of any garden or display. Then the flowers which range from small dainty to giant and also ranging in ultra bright colors most plants dream to produce. All this and they are easy fast and tough as nails. A good display of Cannas can draw the attention of a teenager form their phone , and that is saying something for any plant.
