Yuccas are often over looked in my area. This amazing plant has more potential than most people realize. Some species in this group are very hardy and can handle some of our worst winters here in zone6. The foliage is very desert looking with spiked spear like leaves and flower spikes that push up usually over 6 feet high. Few plants can stand our winters and grow a palm like trunk like several of these amazing Yucca species. With new variegated and hybrids coming out, I am sure Yuccas will have a bright and interesting future for people growing tropical's in the cold north.
