Most people wouldn’t believe it, but we’re already deep into planning for next season. This is the time of year when our evenings are filled with searching for exciting new plants to add to next year’s offerings. I have to admit—we love this part of the process and look forward to it every year. The only problem is, we want everything, and we simply don’t have the space for it all. So, we make a long list and then have to whittle it down to something more manageable.
In other news, my poor Albert garden is having a tough time. We moved out to the country, and as it turns out, the country comes with lots and lots of deer. Every time one of my sunflowers starts to grow, the deer come along and eat the tops off. The other day, I looked outside around noon and saw two young deer treating my garden like it was the best buffet they’d ever been to. At least the other plants are holding their own.
Well, time to get back to planning!

Many would only produce a slight pink vein or just a pink line…
