A few days ago, I was in the greenhouses at the farm when I heard a strange noise. It didn’t seem like anything serious, just that something felt… off. I mentioned it to Brian, and he figured it was probably the bearings on one of the fans needing a little grease. Sounded like a simple fix.

With temperatures hitting the mid-90s all week, I decided to get an early start today. Brian could work on the fan while I tackled some weeding and rearranging. Axle, of course, was supervising from the top of the table.

While I was working at the front of the greenhouse, Brian called me to the back. “Do you want to see this?” he said. And, of course, I didn’t want to see whatever it was—because that meant it wasn’t an easy fix. Sure enough, the fan was broken and needed to be removed so we could get replacement parts. It was already 90 degrees inside the greenhouse, and it was only 8:30 AM.

We brought out every tool we had, tried everything we could think of, but ended up stuck—literally—because of two stubborn bolts. And naturally, the one tool we needed to remove them was still at the nursery.

Thankfully, the second fan is still working, which should keep things cool enough for now. We’ll have to wait until sunset to shut off the fans and try again. Remember those work lights I told you I got for Christmas? They’re finally getting their moment to shine—literally.

P.S. Axle decided to call it a day after about an hour in the greenhouse. Supervising is hard work. 😊
