Sauromatum venosum
Sauromatum venosum is a shade loving aroid with large leaves similar to a
Amorphophallus or Arisaema. The petioles light green with dark spots
and in early spring it will usually flower a tall dark flower around 1
to 2 feet tall. The inside of the spath is yellow but heavily spotted
with dark red spots. The spadix is dark maroon and stands around 1 foot.
Over all a very odd looking plant. It is very hardy in cold climates
zone 5 to 9. A great addition to any hardy tropical garden or any garden
for that matter. |
