Colocasia Black Beauty
Colocasia Black Beauty is a much darker improvement on the older Colocasia Illustrius. We found this growing among thousands of plants a few years ago and promptly called it black beauty. At times the plant can have a solid black leaf with a single green dot in the center. It suckers freely and can make a large clump over time. I have in the past over wintered Black Beauty in zone 6 with heavy mulching. FACTS Foliage: Extremely dark black with some green veins Flower: Hooded flowers Height: 3 to 5 feet tall Situation: Full sun to part shade. Zone: 7 and up Species/Hybridizer: Unknown |
